The PMO command line is a small program that talks to the same PMO you see on the board. You need a Cross account with access to PMO; your organisation's admin grants that in Cross Portal.

<Callout title="Who writes what is never guessed">
  Every change you make is recorded under your own name, so PMO always knows who you are and never fills it in for you.
</Callout>

<Callout type="warn" title="The download is moving">
  The installer is moving to a public address. Until it does, ask your PMO admin for the install line for your computer.
</Callout>

<Steps>
<Step>

### Install the command line

Your admin gives you one line to paste. It downloads `pmo`, checks its fingerprint before installing anything, and adds it to your path.

<Tabs items={['Windows', 'macOS', 'Linux']}>
  <Tab value="Windows">Paste the line into **PowerShell**. Nothing else on your computer changes except the list of places Windows looks for programs.</Tab>
  <Tab value="macOS">Paste the line into **Terminal**.</Tab>
  <Tab value="Linux">Paste the line into a terminal. It needs `curl`.</Tab>
</Tabs>

</Step>
<Step>

### Sign in

`pmo login` shows a code and a page. Open the page in any browser, approve it with your Cross account, then check who PMO thinks you are.

```sh
pmo login
pmo whoami
```

</Step>
<Step>

### Find your next task

PMO picks the one task you should work on now, and shows what "finished" means for its feature.

```sh
pmo next
pmo show <activity-id>
```

</Step>
<Step>

### Close it with evidence

Say what finished it, so anyone can check later.

```sh
pmo done <activity-id> --evidence "Merged pull request 42"
```

</Step>
</Steps>
